A command palette that speaks BIM, keyboard shortcuts you define yourself, drawings you can clean up edge by edge, and DXF exports that land at true model coordinates \u2014 most of it born directly from the first weeks of Edit-module feedback.<\/p><h2>Talk to the scene: the command palette<\/h2><p>Press\u00a0<strong>Ctrl+K<\/strong>\u00a0anywhere and one box appears that understands two languages. Type a fragment of any command name \u2014\u00a0<code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">fit<\/code>,\u00a0<code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">sect 2<\/code>,\u00a0<code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">class col<\/code>\u00a0\u2014 and fuzzy search surfaces it; Enter runs it. Only commands that are actually runnable right now show up.<\/p><p>The second language is ours, and it thinks in BIM, not in CAD command aliases:<\/p><ul><li><code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">hide class:IfcProxy<\/code>\u00a0\u2014 hide every proxy in the federation<\/li><li><code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">isolate file:Arch class:IfcWall<\/code>\u00a0\u2014 criteria combine<\/li><li><code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">select filter:\"MEP risers\"<\/code>\u00a0\u2014 your saved Filter sets are part of the language<\/li><li><code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">color class:IfcWall #d04040<\/code>\u00a0\u2014 or just\u00a0<code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">red<\/code><\/li><li><code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">show<\/code>\u00a0\u2014 everything back<\/li><\/ul><p>As you type, the palette answers with a live count \u2014\u00a0<em>Hide 234 element(s)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<strong>before<\/strong>\u00a0you commit. No syntax to memorise: verbs and\u00a0<code data-epitaxy-inline-code=\"\">key:value<\/code>, that&#8217;s all.<\/p><h2>Keyboard shortcuts, finally yours<\/h2><p><strong>Performance \u2192 Aliases<\/strong>\u00a0lists every command in Inspectra. Double-click, press the keys, done \u2014 conflicts light up red. Whole sets save as\u00a0<strong>profiles<\/strong>: export one to a file, carry it to the office machine, import, delete the ones you outgrew. The active profile loads on every start.<\/p><h2>Drawings get surgical<\/h2><p>The Edit module&#8217;s drawing space picked up the tools that daily documentation work actually asks for:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Hide a single edge.<\/strong>\u00a0Right-click any line on a drawing \u2014 not the whole element, that one edge \u2014 and it is gone. Hover the element and the hidden edge ghosts back so you can find it;\u00a0<em>Show edge<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>Show hidden edges<\/em>\u00a0restores. Masks survive saving, follow onto layouts and leave the DXF export too.<\/li><li><strong>The camera stays put.<\/strong>\u00a0Hiding, undo, redraws \u2014 the view no longer jumps back to a fresh fit mid-work.<\/li><li><strong>DXF references (XREF).<\/strong>\u00a0Attach external DXF files to a drawing \u2014 at their own global coordinates or by picking an insertion point \u2014 with a manager to show, hide or detach each. References are live: save the file in its CAD and Inspectra picks it up.<\/li><li><strong>Section Sets.<\/strong>\u00a0A new drawing type that is neither a section nor a paper layout: a model-space board, one unit = one metre, where you drag several sections and arrange them freely. Export produces\u00a0<strong>one DXF<\/strong>\u00a0with the whole arrangement.<\/li><\/ul><h2>DXF that knows where it stands<\/h2><p>Exports gained a\u00a0<strong>Global coordinates<\/strong>\u00a0option. Top views land at their true easting\/northing \u2014 open the file over your survey base and it simply fits. Straight sections lay themselves flat along their cut line in plan, preserving direction and length. And a Section Set anchors the whole composition by its Top View member, so one file carries the plan\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0the sections, georeferenced.<\/p><p>The point-cloud raster underlay joined the export as well: the DXF now ships with a side-car image, referenced and placed so CAD shows the scan behind your line work. A new\u00a0<strong>Quality<\/strong>\u00a0dial (Draft \u2192 Ultra) controls its sharpness, and detaching a drawing freezes its raster permanently \u2014 even after the source scan is unloaded.<\/p><h2>Snapping, straightened out<\/h2><p>Three fixes from the field:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Intersections actually win now.<\/strong>\u00a0The X snap existed, but a vertex at the edge of its tolerance could steal a crossing sitting right under your cursor. Candidates now compete by weighted distance \u2014 the crossing under the cursor gets the X.<\/li><li><strong>Alignments are snappable.<\/strong>\u00a0On profiles and longitudinal sections the axis and design-grade polylines join the snap engine \u2014 the crossing of a niweleta with terrain is one click.<\/li><li><strong>Markers only when they matter.<\/strong>\u00a0Snap glyphs appear while a tool that consumes coordinates is armed \u2014 plain hovering stays clean.<\/li><\/ul><h2>Quality of life<\/h2><p>A global section (X\/Y\/Z) now starts at your pivot point, with its drag ball right there instead of at the scene origin. Scroll-zoom over empty space is as smooth as zooming at geometry. Longitudinal sections can take the\u00a0<strong>whole alignment<\/strong>\u00a0with one tick, and they no longer draw a stray straight line across the 3D model.<\/p><h2>Get it<\/h2><p>Download Inspectra BIM 0.9.0 from\u00a0<a class=\"text-accent hover:underline underline-offset-[1px] outline-none hide-focus-ring ring-focus rounded-r2\" href=\"https:\/\/inspectrabim.com\/download\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inspectrabim.com\/download<\/a>. The palette, aliases and snapping improvements are part of the free viewer; the drawing tools belong to the Edit module.
